Artist’s Day in Ukraine

Artist's Day is a Ukrainian professional holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in October. It was officially established in 1998 by President Leonid Kuchma, who supported the initiative of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Artist's Day was established to recognize the role of artists in the development of Ukrainian fine arts and the revival of national traditions in contemporary art. Artist's Day is the professional holiday of all Ukrainian painters, illustrators, sculptors, printmakers. It is celebrated with art exhibitions and other cultural events.
